Ms. Anna Wentlent is in her second year as the RMHS Choral Director and PK-12 Fine and Performing Arts Department Head for the Reading Public Schools. She attended the Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam (music education), York St. John College in York, England (community music), and Boston University (educational leadership and policy studies). Before starting at RMHS, she was the choral director and general music teacher at Coolidge Middle School. She also taught for several years in her home state of New York and worked for Alfred Music, a leading educational music publisher.
In addition to teaching, Ms. Wentlent is active as a clinician and author, with several music education resources in print, including IPA Made Easy, The Women of Western Music, and Music Mosaic, a middle school general music curriculum. Her current educational interests include American popular music, fostering vulnerability and authenticity in adolescent singers, and experiential learning. Ms. Wentlent is also an accomplished alto singer and pianist, with considerable experience as a freelance accompanist, church musician, and musical theater director. |
